depends on ur visa, you applied as a student so you will most likely see 20 hours per week work permit. The national insurance number[NIN] is just because employers will ask for it to work ur tax. You can start work without the NIN.

Any laptop can serve except if u want to design phone app, then u will be needing android studio . If u use mini laptop for android studio ur system will cry (literally).
