US President Donald Trump brandished a stack of printed articles at the White House Wednesday that he claimed documented a genocide taking place against white people in South Africa.

Mixed into the deck of papers he unveiled before South African leader Cyril Ramaphosa, however, was a months-old blog post featuring a photo from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"Death of people, death, death, death, horrible death, death," Trump said as he flipped through the headlines, which he said were published in "the last few days."

"These are all people that recently got killed."

Trump and his allies have spread baseless claims of a "genocide" targeting white farmers in South Africa, claims that the government in Pretoria has dismissed as false.

At the bilateral meeting in the Oval Office on Wednesday, the US president held up a February article about tribalism in Africa from a little-known website called "American Thinker."

It featured a blown-up image showing Red Cross workers in protective gear handling body bags.

"Look, here's burial sites all over the place," said Trump. "These are all white farmers that are being buried."

But the image is a screengrab from a February YouTube video of Red Cross workers responding after women were raped and burned alive during a mass jailbreak in the Congolese city of Goma, according to its caption.

The Indian news outlet WION published the video, using footage supplied by Reuters.

Overall, about 75 people are murdered every day in South Africa, most of whom are young black men in urban areas, according to police figures.

What did your South African handle well in what you watch , the man that could not continue to watch the Video evidence of his citizens calling for mass killing of others and visibly disturb

I guys you did not watch the responses after the videos, Trump did not have a come back after Rupert explained. By the way the song is not about killing anyone of you understand the politics of South Africa, Malema is not even part of government, Trump did not do his research on that. Anyway this is more about the international politics and the Gaza issue.

South Africa handled him very well, he wanted to do the Zelenskyy on them but the presented facts to him , he couldn’t come back with his fiction propaganda. I hope they dnt make a deal to withdraw from the Israel case. All the showed is Malema singing and cars of whites farmers during the Zuma must fall nation wide shut down. Rupert calling the illegal foreigners in South Africa “aliens “ cheered Donald Trump.

Most White South Africans came to South Africa before 75% of the Black tribes arrived. If this issue of threat against Whites in SA is not managed with diplomacy, South Africa will go down.

That is bull ,the whites trying to change history. Did you know there was a bill prohibiting blacks from land. In the 1960s my grandfather’s family where forced out of their land in Limpopo to make way for a farm for some white dude . They were told is either they became farm workers for that white guy or they leave the place . Those are the kind of historical injustices that need to be corrected. Black people were forced out of Sophia town to Soweto . In 1994 during transition the whites transferred a chunk of government land to be under their names. Anyway no land from whites is being taken but there is a chunk of land that government can’t even trace the owners ,most ran away after 1994 because they dnt want to be under blacks . Most fear by whites is purely racism rooted and they dnt want equality with blacks , they always feel superior and when blacks catch up is seen as horrible things.

Why did Syrians ,Libyans and Iraqis flee to Europe instead of going to those wealthy Arab nations like Qatar et al who actually sponsored ISIS and Al Qaeda.
America has taken refugees from every corner of the globe including Africans.
Races will always give preference to theirs. The Afrikaners are Dutch,I'd expect them to flee there ,which I think many have . Africans will take in other refugees then get aided by the white to maintain them.
Basically you are saying Trump is racist for taking white Afrikaners in other words.
I do know they own a huge chunk of wealth in South Africa and there needs to be a correction. There are gangs that kill them and take their properties .South Africans are the most xenophobic, people on the planet, they have necklaced Zimbabweans especially.

Did you know the gang you’re talking about is mostly illegal Zimbabweans terrorising both black and whites. When communities catch them and do mob justice at crime scene is called xenophobia. Wow so South Africa are supposed to be happy with those criminals in absence of policing

Yes, they call it "muti killings". It's not as common as it is in Nigeria though. But ritual is a thing across sub-Saharan Africa. I know a guy who used to live in Gabon. One day, some tribespeople captured him along with others and locked them up. Turned out their king died and they needed to bury people with him. He was lucky he escaped.

You cnt see those people are not black

Why do some of you guys love ing wrong information? When did South Africa remove 3 zeros from their currency? Before Ghana removed removed 4 zeros, the exchange rate was close to $/10,000 cedis, so they had to remove 4 zeros.

We don't need to remove zeros from the naira.
Here is a list of countries worldwide that have removed zeros from their currency:
1. Zimbabwe
2. Ghana
3. Angola
4. Sudan
5. Democratic Republic of Congo
6. Argentina
7. Brazil
8. Bolivia
9. Peru
10. Venezuela
11. Turkey
12. Russia
13. Ukraine
14. Kazakhstan
15. Georgia
16. Yugoslavia (former)
17. Romania
18. Poland
19. North Korea
20. China (historically, during currency reform)

what's the minimum wage in South Africa?? Start from there please.

Anyone who wants to do comparison of prices in Nigeria and elsewhere should always start from the Minimum wage in Nigeria and that of the country they want to compare us with.

Then divide the minimum wage in that country by the price of that item, and do same for Nigeria minimum wage divided by the price in Nigeria, you can now compare how many of those items can their minimum wage get and how many can Nigeria minimum wage get in order to know which is better.

Let me help you.
South Africa minimum wage = 27.58 rands per hour
For a 8 hour/ day and 22 days per month job = 27.58 X 8 X 22 = 4854.08 rands
Change to Naira using your Exchange rate above = 4864.08 X 85 = #412, 596.8
Hope you can see their minimum wage, do I need to proceed?

But Dstv still need to buy content in Dollars.

1. DSTV has introduced pay per week in Kenya and Uganda...you pay for a week, and then you can renew when you want...so that may be an option for the market

2. DSTV cannot do pay as you watch for Nigeria...simply because it would in essence be difficult for them to maintain it financially....and the tech does not exist in Nigeria.

3. At the end, DSTV Is a company, and the content it sells is expensive. It is like Nigerians want it cheap or something.

Dstv doesn’t have pay per view anywhere in Africa

As of **2025**, DStv subscription prices in **Nigeria and South Africa** have seen some adjustments due to inflation, currency fluctuations, and MultiChoice's pricing strategies. Below is an updated comparison of **DStv package prices in Nigeria vs. South Africa, converted to Naira (NGN)** for easy comparison.

---

### **DStv Package Prices (2025)**
| **Package** | **Nigeria (NGN)** | **South Africa (ZAR)** | **ZAR → NGN (Converted)*** |
|-------------------|------------------|-----------------------|---------------------------|
| **** | ₦**34,000** | **R1,049 =~₦**89,200** (R1 = ₦85) |
| **Compact+** | ₦**22,500** | **R749= ~₦**63,700** |
| **Compact** | ₦**14,800** | **R529 = ~₦**45,000** |
| **Confam** | ₦**8,900** | **R369= |~₦**31,400** |
| **Yanga** | ₦**5,200** | **R229= |~₦**19,500** |
| **Padi** | ₦**3,500** | **R129= ~₦**11,000** |

*(Exchange rate used: **1 ZAR ≈ ₦85**, based on 2025 forex trends)*

---

### **Key Observations (2025 Update)**
1. **DStv is still cheaper in Nigeria** than in South Africa when converted to Naira.
- Example: **** costs **₦34,000** in Nigeria but **~₦89,200** in South Africa.
2. **Price Increases in Both Countries**:
- Nigeria saw a **~15% increase** (e.g., was ₦29,500 in 2024, now ₦34,000).
- South Africa also increased prices (e.g., was R899, now R1,049).
3. **Exchange Rate Impact**: The Naira has weakened further against the Rand, making SA packages even more expensive in Naira .

### **Why Is DStv Cheaper in Nigeria?**
- **Purchasing Power**: MultiChoice adjusts pricing based on local affordability.
- **Competition**: Pressure from **IPTV, Showmax, and streaming services** keeps prices competitive in Nigeria.
- **Regulatory Differences**: Taxes and operational costs differ between the two markets.

### **Which Country Gets Better Value?**
- **South Africa** sometimes gets **extra channels or features** (like DStv Internet).
- **Nigeria** remains the **more affordable option**, but with fewer perks.

Nigerians are not interested in CAF champions league, but they Uefa champions league.

Is this a proof that Nigerians are brainwashed and have inferior mindset towards whites people.

Who ever bewitched Nigeria with Europe and America worshipping messed them up. Do you know some would even buy frozen pizza in Europe. Is insane that the whole country’s dream is to jabba to a better country instead of developing their country including soccer. I think they have given up with anything that says Nigeria and they think Africa as a whole is messed up like them

How is SA a busybody?

Ramaphosa is obviously on an assignment and he played his part beautifully.

He didn't jump into a matter that is not his concern, the players asked him to do what he's doing.

Putin called him beforehand.

Zelenskyy came visiting to discuss.

He briefed Trump afterwards.

This doesn't sound like a busybody's doings to me.

I'm sure it's not lost on us both that our very own Baba was not asked to play this honourable role.

Actually Trump is the one who called not the other way around

JOHANNESBURG, April 24 (Reuters) - South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa said in a post on social media platform X on Thursday that he had spoken to U.S. President Donald Trump on the Ukraine war and the need to foster good bilateral relations.
"We both agreed that the war should be brought to an end as soon as possible to stop further unnecessary deaths... [and] to meet soon to address various matters regarding U.S.-South Africa relations," Ramaphosa said.

If the war is ended by Trump he will feel more powerful and is is done by South Africa Trump won’t be happy with it.
