Compare Earth's size to the Sun or jupiter
|

PotatoSalad:7-9 months actually and depending on when the trip is made as the distance between the earth and Mars varies as they orbit the Sun. But yeah, traveling that long definitely impacts humans. That's why I said in my previous post that only if humans are made to become not so human, less human or AI engineered. 2 Likes |

PotatoSalad:Well, Mr Musk thinks otherwise. We'll see... |

PotatoSalad:Well, see you in Mars by 2050 |

PotatoSalad:I love your perspective and how you've presented your case. I am a big fan of such possibilities That said, other planets are not habitable.. at least not designed to human life. Exoplanets that have been discovered light years away based on scientific research could have water and life, but we've not even come close to traveling near light speed of light which we might not be able to attain as humans. We are still studying wormholes which could be portals to other universes, still all speculations and no scientific evidence/proof to back it. And unless we find ways not to be human anymore, then maybe, just maybe there's a chance that earth is not our only home. |

Parizz:The truth is, we don't know. Space is large, billions of universes, anything could be out there. Do you know about the Fermi Paradox? |

PotatoSalad:Earth will always be our home, as old as 4.5 billion years old, it has sustained all that has lived, all that we know and beyond. We have yet to visit another planet, so it's a bit unclear when you say earth isn't our final home. That said, I'm a big fan of space exploration and I hope plans to terraform Mars are realistic and achievable in the near future. |

PotatoSalad:While I can relate with your message, I think he's good at telling stories, answering complex space and astronomy questions and contributing overall to the community. Let me ask you, do you think we can and should colonize Mars? |

CaptainFM1:No I obviously don't know the scripture more than you. I think in this context, science and religion have its place. Do you drive a car? Do you use air-conditioning systems in your house? Are those in the Bible ![]() |

BlackyOne:If you read this post by the op, it's located about 47 light years away. With our current technology, you would not be able to get to it as we don't even come close to traveling at the speed of light. So my friend, enjoy earth 🌎 for now. Maybe soon, we'll have domes on Mars after successfully terraforming it.. |

Avedonn: Awesome. I create content on science(space & astronomy) and looking for like minded people to keep building the community both locally and across the world. Let's connect https://youtube.com/@starrysimplified?sub_confirmation=1 |

CaptainFM1:It was 9 with Pluto inclusive, but around 2006, it was declassified as it didn't meet the 3 main properties of a planet. So yeah, we have 8. The planet in this thread is an exoplanet, it is not in our solar system. Most exoplanets orbit other stars, unlike the earth and 7 others that orbit the star we know as the Sun. |

MightySparrow: I share similar concerns especially bringing science and religion together. Both cannot coexist, both have their truth, most things science tells us are not proven, talk about black holes, worm holes etc yet to be fully explored.. Religion tells us there's a creator somewhere of all of these things Summarily, we'll get closer to the truth as time es by us 1 Like 1 Share |

Are we living inside a highly advanced computer simulation? 🤯 In this mind-bending video, Neil deGrasse Tyson breaks down the Simulation Hypothesis and explores whether our universe is just a cosmic video game designed by a higher intelligence. From Elon Musk's thoughts on simulations to the mathematical mysteries of our existence, this video will challenge everything you think you know about reality! Watch till the end and decide for yourself—are we real, or just lines of code? 1 Like 1 Share |

richie240:I have been to other states, Lagos is unique with its smell tbh... |
![]() |
The honest truth is, most parts of Lagos smells. I parked somewhere around Mende, Maryland just yesterday somewhere, not so far from the Maryland mall, I could perceive the conk smell from dirty gutters. It's everywhere, Most parts of mainland... No need to apologize.. Even though the gutters are covered, it still smells. The government has a lot to do to keep the city clean |
