Compare Earth's size to the Sun or jupiter

We need a tech that will cushion the effects of long space travel on humans. Even with our current technology, it'll still take 6 months to get there. 6 months in a capsule. Enough time to make one go mad
7-9 months actually and depending on when the trip is made as the distance between the earth and Mars varies as they orbit the Sun. But yeah, traveling that long definitely impacts humans. That's why I said in my previous post that only if humans are made to become not so human, less human or AI engineered.

Nah. We won't have a manned mission to mars in the next 50 years at least. Unless tech advances faster than projected
Well, Mr Musk thinks otherwise. We'll see...

Antarctica is harsh, yet people live there.
Yakutsk too. There's nothing that humans cannot do if they set their minds towards it.

Trust the process
Well, see you in Mars by 2050

You should read how humans discovered all continents. Space exploration right now is eqv to when humans used logs tied together to sail the oceans and discover new places. It's still in its infancy.
We're going to become interplanetary species. It's only a matter of time.
With a breakthrough in quantum computing and nuclear fusion, everything else falls in place.
I hope we get to witness part of it in our time the same way people witnessed the moon landings.
I love your perspective and how you've presented your case. I am a big fan of such possibilities

That said, other planets are not habitable.. at least not designed to human life.
Exoplanets that have been discovered light years away based on scientific research could have water and life, but we've not even come close to traveling near light speed of light which we might not be able to attain as humans. We are still studying wormholes which could be portals to other universes, still all speculations and no scientific evidence/proof to back it.

And unless we find ways not to be human anymore, then maybe, just maybe there's a chance that earth is not our only home.

are there aliens
The truth is, we don't know. Space is large, billions of universes, anything could be out there. Do you know about the Fermi Paradox?
lovelyeyez(m): 10:02pm On Apr 01
PotatoSalad:

Definitely. We're voyagers.
Earth isn't our final home.
Earth will always be our home, as old as 4.5 billion years old, it has sustained all that has lived, all that we know and beyond.

We have yet to visit another planet, so it's a bit unclear when you say earth isn't our final home.

That said, I'm a big fan of space exploration and I hope plans to terraform Mars are realistic and achievable in the near future.

He just takes discoveries by other people and uses them to tell stories, making him look cool. But he's never discovered or contributed to the community. Go and watch a video on what he said about elon musk.
If it's to glaze isaac newton or Galileo, he'll jump first.
While I can relate with your message, I think he's good at telling stories, answering complex space and astronomy questions and contributing overall to the community.

Let me ask you, do you think we can and should colonize Mars?

I never came across all these in the bible. What an awesome God! You obviously know the scripture more than me.
No I obviously don't know the scripture more than you. I think in this context, science and religion have its place.

Do you drive a car? Do you use air-conditioning systems in your house? Are those in the Bible

No Mars!
Enaiposha sound like a Genz baddie, opueh go plenty there grin
If you read this post by the op, it's located about 47 light years away. With our current technology, you would not be able to get to it as we don't even come close to traveling at the speed of light.

So my friend, enjoy earth 🌎 for now. Maybe soon, we'll have domes on Mars after successfully terraforming it..

I am a ionate astronomy enthusiast especially in exoplanets like Proxima Centauri b, stellar phenomena like type 2 supernovae and their remnants magnetars, pulsars, planetary migration, the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, astrobiology, and stellar spectral classification.

Please if there is any active astronomy communities, I'd love so that we can discuss such topics.

Awesome. I create content on science(space & astronomy) and looking for like minded people to keep building the community both locally and across the world. Let's connect https://youtube.com/@starrysimplified?sub_confirmation=1

Wow....Isn't God wonderful. Before it was 9, then he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and now created Enaiposha!
It was 9 with Pluto inclusive, but around 2006, it was declassified as it didn't meet the 3 main properties of a planet.
So yeah, we have 8.

The planet in this thread is an exoplanet, it is not in our solar system. Most exoplanets orbit other stars, unlike the earth and 7 others that orbit the star we know as the Sun.

Watch has this thread is deserted. If it were to be ethnic bashing or nyash related thread you would have found a lot of NL resident roaches. Since it is about a topic that requires brain power nairaland roaches have all disappeared grin
I have been struggling to build a community of space and astronomy enthusiasts in Nigeria. Mehn, it's harddddd.

I am a Christian with a ion for astronomy and science as a whole. As you have pointed out, science is physical, religion is spiritual and spirits are not detectable in test tube.
That's right. I create content related to space and astronomy. Please subscribe and really happy to hear your thoughts on our content

Neil DeGrasse Tyson is my man anyday. I like the way he explained complex things in very simple ways. However, he was misinterpreting the Bible in one of his videos. I know he knows so much, the real truth about knowledge is that the more you know, the more you discover your ignorance.

I think there exists a infinite mind somewhere who created all things and who has out in the mind of man to discover and appreciate him. The religious people may have misrepresented him.

I have been following the arguments of Professor Wheeler, Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawkins, Michio Kaku etc , great minds. Yet, I still have this reservation thet there is a creator somewhere.

I watched a video like that in A strum in the which the known universe as we see it now was described to have designed patterned like the nerves in human brain.
In the conclusion, the presenter said, ...' we may living in the mind of an infinite person.'

I share similar concerns especially bringing science and religion together. Both cannot coexist, both have their truth, most things science tells us are not proven, talk about black holes, worm holes etc yet to be fully explored.. Religion tells us there's a creator somewhere of all of these things

Summarily, we'll get closer to the truth as time es by us

Is reality just an illusion? Are we living inside a highly advanced computer simulation? 🤯 In this mind-bending video, Neil deGrasse Tyson breaks down the Simulation Hypothesis and explores whether our universe is just a cosmic video game designed by a higher intelligence.
From Elon Musk's thoughts on simulations to the mathematical mysteries of our existence, this video will challenge everything you think you know about reality! Watch till the end and decide for yourself—are we real, or just lines of code?

Tell me a single part/state in nigeria that doesn't 'smell' Biko?? Or izit that una just like yarning just to be noticed.
cool
I have been to other states, Lagos is unique with its smell tbh...
lovelyeyez(m): 7:01pm On Mar 17
The honest truth is, most parts of Lagos smells. I parked somewhere around Mende, Maryland just yesterday somewhere, not so far from the Maryland mall, I could perceive the conk smell from dirty gutters. It's everywhere, Most parts of mainland... No need to apologize..

Even though the gutters are covered, it still smells. The government has a lot to do to keep the city clean

Hope it works
