Anijay1212:
Congratulations our Nigerian trumpeter.
It seems Nigerians are hell bent on breaking all the available Guinness world records.
I wish us all the best.

Yes indeed.

At this rate, GWR may eventually need to create a section in their book wholly dedicated to Nigerians!

Nigerian trumpeter Joshua Olusanya alias Trumpet Influencer has now been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records (GWR) as holder of the record for ‘Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet’, after a previous disqualified attempt in February 2024.

Olusanya’s first attempt was disqualified because he interrupted his performance to drink water, which is not allowed under GWR rules.

However, between 9 and 10 May 2025, at the 400-seater Terra Kulture Arena on Victoria Island in Lagos, Olusanya then made the successful marathon trumpet performance that lasted 25 hours 30 minutes 36 seconds.

Olusanya shared the news after receiving an email from GWR confirming the approval of his record attempt.

The GWR message partly read, “Dear Joshua Olusanya, we are thrilled to inform you that your application for Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Records Title Holder!

“Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing!”

Hi Oreoluwa1996,

have you written any books yet?

If no, you should get down to it right away. You have a good command of English and a gripping style of delivery.

Your literature prizes are beckoning.

CSTRR:
The highest in the last 15 months.

That means it has not even compared to the levels that was reached under buhari, let alone the pdp era.

But the sycophants are here praising tinubu.

CSTRR, how on earth did you reach the conclusion that Nigeria's current gas exports are not comparable to the Buhari years or the PDP era?

Check the chart below for the actual figures from 1960 to 2023, sourced from CEIC Data.

In April 2025, Nigeria’s Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) exports hit 83,370 million standard cubic feet (mmscf), which is the highest achieved in the last 15 months.

The massive increase in exports is being driven by renewed international demand for gas in Asia, Europe, and some other parts of the world.

As at January 2025, Nigeria holds substantial natural gas reserves estimated at 210.54 trillion cubic feet (Tcf).

Looking forward in the medium to long term, nascent projects such as the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline and the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline, could further raise the country’s exports to international markets.

Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) was incorporated 17 May 1989 to exploit Nigeria’s natural gas resources in order to produce Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) for export, thereby reducing gas flaring/diversifying the economy.

The company is owned by four shareholders:

Federal Government of Nigeria represented by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited: 49%
Shell: 25.6%
TotalEnergies Gaz & Électricité Holdings : 15%
Eni: 10.4%

NLNG also has 2 subsidiaries: Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) Limited and NLNG Ship Management Limited (NSML).

In 1987, member countries of the World Health Organization (WHO) created World No Tobacco Day to draw global attention to the tobacco epidemic and the preventable death and disease it causes.

Observed every year on 31 May, this international day of sensitization exhorts people to break loose from the bondage of tobacco and urges policymakers to impose stricter regulations.

The theme for WNTD 2025 is “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products.”

WHO is this year directing attention to how tobacco and nicotine companies target youth via glitzy packaging, beguiling flavours, and deceptive marketing.

The aim is to warn everyone, especially the young, against these fraudulent strategies.

Before you start, take a visit to the nearest LAPO office in your area. You will see more than enough to dissuade you. This is not the time to enter lending business

OP: This right here from Dogalmighty17 is the best advice offered so far.

Let me also suggest an easy out for you:

1. Fix your N10m for 2 years with RenMoney via their RenVault option.

2. You will immediately get about N4m which you can use to sort yourself while THOUGHTFULLY looking for any genuine business you can later go into.

If you need a RenMoney , I can link you up.

Wishing you all the best!

On Wednesday 28 May 2025, Nigeria’s Super Eagles defeated Ghana’s Black Stars 2-1 to advance to the final of the 2025 Unity Cup.

30-year-old Cyriel Kọ́láwọlé Dessers opened scoring for Nigeria in the 14th minute after chesting a cross and right-footing it past goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.

In the 19th, Ghana’s Razak Simpson made it 2-0 for Nigeria with an own goal.

A free kick from the right side of the 18-yard box went high; Razak jumped to clear it but headed it past his own goalie to score for Nigeria.

Kelechi Iheanacho almost it made 3-0 for the Super Eagles in the 67th with a hot low cross that bested the Ghanian keeper, but the referee flagged it offside.

At 70 minutes, Brandon Thomas-Asante picked a low cross and rocketed a left-footer past Nigerian netminder Stanley Bobo Nwabali for Ghana’s only goal.

In the 87th, Ghana’s Abu Francis almost got the equaliser with a low shot from an André Ayew but Nwabali made an excellent save to win the game for the Super Eagles.

Nigeria will now face Jamaica in the final match on Saturday 31 May 2025.

Galaticos444:
The issue of who's the national secretary of d PDP shouldn't b ambiguous the problem here is that we don't obey court order(mostly cos d court is corrupt and lost validity).d supreme court said that d issue of who's d national secretary of d PDP is an internal affair hence d PDP should decide who becomes d national secretary INEC however, has no right to decide who becomes PDP's national secretary

Never allow sentiment to becloud sound logic.

Both the Supreme Court and INEC are 100% correct in this instance.

Why? Because we have a Nigerian Constitution that serves as a point of reference at all times, and the political parties also have their own constitutions guiding their activities.

1. Issue of Party Secretary: Purely an internal affair, as correctly posited by the Supreme Court.

2. Anyanwu as PDP Secretary: Has not yet been removed via the process stipulated in PDP's own constitution, as correctly declared by INEC.

It is not a question of whether someone likes Wike or prefers Atiku. It is a question of legality or otherwise.

If we want Nigeria to become a country we can all be proud of, we must learn to rise above primordial sentiments and uphold the rule of law, at all times and above all else.

Court orders El-Rufai to pay N900 million as damages for illegally arresting, detaining critics

The Kaduna Division of the Federal High Court on Tuesday ordered the state’s former governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to pay N900 million as damages for violating the fundamental rights of Adara community elders in 2019.

Justice Hauwau Buhari delivered the judgment in the suit filed by Awemi Dio Maisamari and eight other elders of the community in Southern Kaduna.

The court ruled that Mr El-Rufai is liable for illegally arresting and detaining the affected Adara elders and should pay N900 million in damages.

The Inspector General of Police and the Nigerian Police Force were also ordered to pay N10 million each as damages for their role in the arrest and detention of the Adara elders.

Counsel to the elders, Gloria Ballason, described the judgment as a big win against abuse of power.

“This judgment marks a watershed against abuse of power and ability for abuse, whether the occupiers of the office are temporarily shielded by immunity or not,” Ms Ballason said. “Even when people in authority enjoy immunity, it does not warrant executive lawlessness.”

Tuesday’s judgment was reminiscent of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court’s ruling that ordered Mr El-Rufai’s government to pay N40 million to Audu Maikori, the president of Chocolate City Group, as compensation for his unlawful arrest and detention in 2017.

The Enugu State Police Command has arrested one Chidera Godwin Ako and his 3 accomplices.

The 21-year-old is alleged to have feigned his own abduction and thereby extorted ₦2 million ransom from his parents.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Daniel Ndukwe, announced this via a statement in Enugu on Tuesday 27 May 2025.

According to Ndukwe, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad Nsukka Sector caught 4 suspects around 1 p.m. on 24 May 2025 for conspiracy, staged kidnap, and defrauding parents of a staged kidnap victim of ₦2 million.

He gave the names of the suspects as:

Chidera Godwin Ako, 21 years old (who arranged his own alleged kidnap)
Chidalu Phillip Okechukwu, 19 years old
Ifeanyi Ugwu, 20
Ossai Chigozie, 35 (recently released from the prison).

Ndukwe also said a locally-made single-barrel gun and two live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.

Ako was reported missing on 4 May 2025; on 21 May his accomplices via his phone demanded ₦10m ransom from his parents, sending a video of him tied, seemingly beaten and with a gun pointed at him.

The parents begged for his release and paid ₦1.5m into a furnished on 22 May but the suspects did not release him.

After an extra ₦0.5m payment, police operatives swooped on Ako and his accomplices at a POS centre while attempting to withdraw the dough and arrested them.

Ndukwe added that the suspects have confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court after conclusion of ongoing investigations.

Get a video converter software on your computer and convert the movie to the file your TV s. Its probably .avi or .mp4, find out which one and convert all movies to it and then you can play them on your tv.

AndroBlaze,kudos!

@ OP, right here is your solution.

Check the format of the files that are successfully playing on your TV, then convert the other files to that format.

Why didn't they pay their ground rent?

Thank you!

If they paid their ground rent, there would be no excuse to seal off their HQ.

Wike has been warning them about this debt for months, but they did not deem it fit to pay, and even went ahead to choose it as their NEC venue.

Yet some people blinded by emotion are here defending the indefensible.

Was PDP owing or not owing? That is the question. Are they supposed to be above the law because they are a political party?

No wonder they are against Wike and Tinubu's policies that have taken free subsidy fund and forex racketeering away from them

Glad to see we still have people on Nairaland who are driven by cold logic rather than maudlin and parochial sentiment.

There's no way low income earners can buy those properties.
In think the best approach is to assess the true values of the houses according to current reality and subject it to lottery for civil servants.

The conditions of sale will be spelt out clearly, subject to affordability by the individuals acquiring them.

This is another excellent suggestion.

As someone who's married and divorcing now, see my added nuggets:
1. Avoid girls from broken homes. They come with loads of trauma. I learnt the had way.
2. Avoid girls who hate their fathers, even if the man is irresponsible. You'll soon their fathers' club.
3. Avoid girls who disrepect you. Treat her minutest disrespect as a bloody red flag.
4. Body count matters. Avoid girls with loads of escapades. Avoid girls with unresolved attachment to their exes. Avoid girls who insist on keeping male besties.
5. Lastly, most people don't improve after marriage. Red flags multiply after marriage.

Excellent!

This should be framed and hung on the wall by every aspiring husband, for daily meditation.
