Yet the man that calls himself President has not issued any official statement or call for state of emergency.
The man that calls himself Chief of Army Staff have not been sacked
And the President have not fired the National Security Adviser with immediate effect!
The Inspector General of Police have not been fired with arrest
The Chief of Defense Staff have not been summoned to the statehouse, sacked and arrested to show action.
But they are busy plotting how to reelect a certified failure who appointed his fellow corrupt failures
What does that tell you? Simple! That the government and politicians don't care about the people. What matters to them is their personal interests. How do we know? Bring up a topic about 2027 election and see them go haywire.
I don't know what's wrong with me. Growing up, my best moment was whenever I was traveling(By road). I used to enjoy this.
But since I clocked 25, I no longer find it pleasurable traveling, I'm always scared of traveling. I fear that I may be involved in an accident that could maim or kill me. I have not been able to share this with anyone cos I don't know how to. Some years ago, my friend and I had a terrible ghastly accident that almost costed us our dear lives. We were returning back from the village in the early(6am) hours of the morning and before we would exit the village, the brakes of our vehicle(Lexus 350) failed and the speed of the car tripled. I saw death, I came in direct with death, but God saved me. My friend who was driving was quickly rushed to the hospital where he spent a week but I was lucky to not be much affected. I only had a cut on my lips and head. The vehicle somersaulted countless times. Farmers who were on their way to the farm that morning and heard the sound of the car somersaulting refused coming to help us. They said they didn't want to see Dead bodies at that early time of the morning, they didn't know we survived.
Sometimes again, I had another accident. I was about running mad when I eventually managed to pull out of the car, I had use my head to hit everywhere. These two accidents involving two different cars were all sold as scraps cos the damage were irreparable. And if they were to be fixed, the money would be more than imagine.
Again, my father died from a motorbike (Vespa) accident many years ago while I was just 7years. He didn't die on the spot, he even brought himself back home that night unaided. No external injuries but he had internal bleeding which wasn't detected in time, at 4am, mum took him to the hospital as pains in his chest became intense and at 7am, he gave up the ghost. The psychological impact of all these still affect me, I guess.
How do I overcome this please?
Its so bad that whenever a loved one is traveling, I will be saying in my mind that the person might die on the road and that we may never see again. God pls help me!
God has saved me countless times and if I begin to write here, we may not go to bed tonight.
To God alone be all the Glory!
Get born again. That fear will vanish, and nothing will happen to you. The devil is the owner of fear. God wipes it out, and you will travel anytime you feel like, without a single thought of fear.

[quote author=Nna2025 post=135562387]Hello Nairalanders, I know we are very sensitive to cheating so I ask for forgiveness.
I had a fling with a girl I have known for sometime now, I used CD but at some point, I used my finger. I started reading about Hiv and the possiblity of contracting it through fingering. Although my readings says % is very low provided there is no fresh injury, however I opted for PEP to calm my nerves. ( Pep is a drug used, when you suspect an exposure to HIV, you have 36hours to take it or else it won't work)
I tore off the pack, hid it in something and kept it in my bag. My wife for whatever reason searched my bag, saw it googled it and came back shouting and screaming since last night. My only comment to her is let's go for hiv test And that the drug was for my asthma, I know she wants to take it somewhere for verification.
My only fear now is if I disclose the reason for taking PEP, then my marriage is in danger.
Anything I can do to salvage this situation, I do not have time. Please, my people./quote]
Calm down. What you did was very wrong—committing adultery. However, just be calm . Make sure you are not positive, finish the PEP, and go for screening after 14 days. Tell your wife to take it easy. Una think divorce is easy? e no easy o. But stay away from cheating going forward. U didnt even tell us if u na don get children bc that is where divorce is always a catasrophe
What is the difference? Sending it to the Senate or not is the same thing. They don't even think about it before approving it. So going go on, dont bother to send it to them, just do your thing. just de do your thing de go, nothing go happen
We end up using English because we don't have an alternative like the Tanzanians (60 different languages, no majority tribe ) do with Swahilli(a patois developed for coastal Africans and Arab traders to communicate with each other, that somehow evolved into a standalone language)
Till we get one, English it is. Anyway, technology is making language management and preservation easier by the day. Google translate offers services in Hausa, Ibo and yoruba and even a few other nigerian languages.
We must not have a common language before we know who we are. It's a sla.ve mentality. We are unique, and our quality is not dependent on how well we speak a strange foreign language my brother.
I am concerned about the grammatical errors in this press release.
Initially thought it was a typo
Allow us to focus on the main issue, which is insecurity bedeviling our country. We are Nigerians; we are not from England. Can English people write in Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, or even Efik? How can someone's local dialect be used as a standard to measure my own intelligence? I de vex like this
LordBiden:
Good one from saudi authorities,Gumi is a security threat to any nation.
If I where president I would have my NSA chief place him under strict surveillance, his bank s monitored, his phone calls wiretapped.
Then you are not a president for waiting on Saudi to show you the way. Have you not been seeing Gumi snapping pictures and making videos with the terrorists in the forest? Omo, leave that talk. You think every country is as unserious as your Nigeria? Even the Saudi that is so strong in Islam detests what Gumi is doing, and Nigeria, which is a secular state, keeps playing games with the issue. Okay, we dey de watch na
Wakatumbit:
I've made some previous posts about how my wife threatens me with leaving our marriage everytime we have small issues (I didn't post it with this ).
She always threaten to leave anytime we have misunderstandings, not even only misunderstandings, even when we are having normal conversations and someone refers to maybe a bad marriage experience, she always says if it's her she will leave. I've spoken to her about it several times, I have even spoken to her family about the issue but it keeps repeating itself.
She has this kind of mentality that she can leave the marriage at any time I do something to her and she repeats it every time, the last one was during an outing when we had a misunderstanding, even before hearing my own side of the story, she said she already tired of the marriage and wants to leave, so I told her to go if she wants. The next morning, she came to wake me up and told me she doesn't want to do again that she wants to leave, she said she'll call her people and I should call my people. I said fine.
I told my family about it, and they ed me because a woman can't threaten me with marriage after one child.
Another thing my wife does is that she constantly compares me to other men, telling people I don't provide for my family, I don't take care of her, to the extent her friends are telling her that if a man doesn't provide for his woman, then he's pushing her out to meet other men.
In regards to the issue of providing, when we met, things were going very well, it was just the two of us and I had money at the time, I took her on vacation, booked flights for her, bought her hairs, a new phone and all. But now we have a child, added responsibilities, and money isn't as it used to be before but one thing I never do is to starve my family.
Last year I made close to 20m but I didn't see the money, not because I'm an extravagant spender but because of family expenses, I can't even explained what happened to the money aside the fact that I bought a car.
I opened a business for her with almost 3 million, the business crumbled, she doesn't want to do anything, she stays home all day just pressing phone. If I don't have any money at all she can't me, she calls me for everything, even to as little as salt in the house.
She started comparing our marriage to when she was single, that she used to wear the lastest clothes and buy the lastest hair, and now she's married she doesn't get those things forgetting those where the thing I used to do for her when there was enough money.
This whole thing has made me tired of the marriage and I don't feel like continuing it any more, I've told her to call her people since she doesn't want to continue the marriage so they can return the bride price. I just want to focus on my life
All i can say is that you didn't marry your wife. She is not yours if i am to go by the story you shared.
Elyonboy:
Yes she is the one for me, I just needed other people's opinion on the matter thanks 🙏
About furthering education. That will wait for a while. She is very understanding, cooperative and Obedient.
Guy, you are just trying to take advantage of her ignorance and naivety. Look here, if am not mistaken, you are her first love. One day she will wake up and feel she never had the chance to further her studies because you brainwashed her. She might want to try things out outside of you and see how different the world out there looks. Also, she may one day regret not furthering her studies first before settling down with you. I am speaking it the way I see it. Forgive me if you think I am wrong. I believe you asked for a blunt opinion and that is mine

A traveler has shared an encounter with a Nigerian police officer who demanded a bribe despite the suspension of the Electronic Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) policy. The incident occurred along the Benin By, where the officer reportedly asked the travelers to either pay ₦5,000 or provide 5 litres of fuel.
This happened despite the recent suspension of e-CMR enforcement, as previously announced by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
You may recall that the Nigerian Police had earlier announced that enforcement of the controversial e-CMR would begin on July 29, 2024. Under the policy, vehicle owners without the e-CMR would have faced sanctions.
However, the announcement was met with widespread criticism. The Nigerian Bar Association even issued a one-week ultimatum, demanding that the police reverse the decision.
In response to public outcry, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, ordered the immediate suspension of the proposed enforcement originally scheduled for July 29.
In the now-viral video shared by the traveler, the police officer is seen ignoring the travelers’ pleas and openly demanding a bribe of ₦5,000 or 5 litres of fuel from those without the e-CMR. The footage later shows the travelers handing over cash, which the officer takes and carefully counts.
During the exchange, one of the travelers asked the officer, “What’s the problem?” The officer replied, “e-CMR.” The traveler responded, “e-CMR is illegal,” to which the officer said, “You can make a call.” The traveler replied that he had no one to call and then asked the officer what he wanted them to do. The officer answered, “5 litres of fuel.”
The traveler pointed out, “There’s no fuel station around here. Where do you expect us to get the fuel?” The officer replied, “You can just go and get it.” Realizing the officer was asking for money, the traveler asked, “How much is 5 litres of fuel?” The officer responded, “₦5,000.”
The travelers pleaded to pay ₦3,000 instead. One of them explained that they were returning from their grandmother’s burial and that ₦3,000 was all they could afford. The officer, however, showed no interest in their story.
As the video continues to circulate widely on social media—especially on X (formerly Twitter)—many Nigerians have expressed outrage over the officer’s actions and called for ability.
Watch the viral video and share your thoughts in the comments.

In Nigeria, when a child starts behaving strangely—skipping chores, arguing unnecessarily—parents start panicking. “This one has ed bad gang!” they say. And sometimes, they’re right.
There are many reasons why children and relatives behave in a rebellious or troublesome way. I recently watched an interview featuring young men and women in their early and late twenties. A common theme among them was that they ended up on the streets because of their strained relationships with their families. Some shared that their parents were too strict, while others said they lacked attention at home and sought it elsewhere—often with devastating consequences. Many became drug addicts, prostitutes, or political thugs simply because they felt neglected or misunderstood.
Some children become so difficult that they stress their families and entire compounds. The frustrated parents respond by becoming excessively strict or harsh, which pushes the children further away. Some even run away from home, convinced that the world outside will be more welcoming.
Sadly, many of these children eventually realize that life on the streets is not as glamorous as Nollywood makes it seem. There’s no dramatic background music, no hero coming to save them—just hunger, suffering, and dangerous influences. And when they attempt to return home, they are often met with judgment instead of acceptance. “So you want to come back after disgracing us?” some parents say, unknowingly pushing them further into the streets.
These children seek love and understanding, and when they don’t find it at home, they look for it elsewhere, often in the wrong places.
A Plea to Parents and Guardians
Dear Nigerian parents and guardians, please do not abandon your children simply because they seem rebellious or refuse to obey every command. Instead of chasing them away, guide them with patience and understanding.
Let’s be honest—some of these wayward children are incredibly smart. If properly nurtured, they could achieve great things. Have you ever noticed how some street boys can calculate bus fare faster than an ant? Or how some girls selling puff-puff have business skills sharper than most CEOs? That’s untapped potential! If given the right environment, many of them would thrive instead of struggling on the streets.
Advice for Parents
1. Understand Your Children:
Pay attention to their behavior, friendships, and struggles. If your child suddenly starts wearing dark sunglasses indoors and speaking slang you don’t understand—be observant!
2. Give Them Healthy Freedom:
Allow them space to explore their interests while setting reasonable boundaries. The goal is balance—not turning your house into a military barrack.
3. Show Love in the Home:
Nigerian parents, please, hug your children sometimes. Not every time “Did you wash plate?” or “Bring my slippers.”
4. Teach Practical Skills:
Fathers, take your sons along for “manly” work or household chores to teach responsibility. Don’t just shout, “Be a man!” without showing them how.
5. Stop Using Children for Manipulation:
Single parents and grandparents—avoid sending children to spy on neighbors or making them resent their fathers or mothers. Let them grow up without unnecessary family drama.
6. Limit Exposure to Harmful Relationships:
If you engage in external relationships, keep them away from your children if you cannot fully trust your partner.
Children are individuals with their own identities—give them an environment where they can thrive. If your child has run away and you’ve tried everything to bring them back, stay in touch with them or send someone to check on them. Pride often stops them from coming back, but deep down, they want to return home. Make it easier for them.
Finally, never compare your child to others or their siblings. Nigerian parents love to say, “See your mate.” Please, stop it. Every child is unique—some shine early, some shine later, but the goal is to make sure they shine at all.
With patience, guidance, and love, even the most wayward child can find their way back home.
This topic can't be exhausted in a one-page article like this, by the way. Nice write-up all the same
PresidObi:
That's my people, we stand for what is right. The entire market believes the boy is right, because they were all there when the whole thing happened.
INEC didn't use technical glitches to ruin this issue, the judiciary wont change this matter with technicalities and award the Oga the victory because he's affluent.
That is where there is no Baba Sope . The people's voices must be heard.
lol.Another random guy on the internet spewing lies, pretending Palestine has ever been an independent state (it hasn’t) and that Hamas aren’t bloodthirsty terrorists (they are). Funny how you guys never mention Hamas butchering thousand of Israelis on October 7th, including that poor African student they executed in cold blood. But no, let’s ignore that and cry about “stolen land”.https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-67713520.amp
Speaking of lies, those so called European diplomats in the West Bank, filming their little propaganda stunt, whinged when the IDF fired warning shots in the air, around to disperse them. Where’s the footage of soldiers gunning them down like Palestinian terrorists did to that pregnant woman on her way to give birth. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgq89yd7p7o
Happened in the same West Bank.
I’m sure you’ll call it “Zionist lies.”
Funny how you worship Mandela but never talk about the fact that his ANC bombed and killed civilians(search it up). But Mandela changed, denounced violence, and made peace. Hamas’s charter still screams about wiping out Jews. So why don’t Palestinians follow Mandela’s actual example instead of glorifying terrorists?
It’s not about Islam? Why does Hamas’s charter quote the Quran calling for Jewish slaughter? Why do Palestinian kids learn in school that martyrdom is the highest honour? And if it’s just about “land,” why did Arab nations cleanse and expel thousand of Jews in 1948? Where’s your outrage for that ethnic cleansing?
Are you aware that Jews have been living there thousand of years before Islam ever existed? Why do Palestinian leaders always deny Jewish history (like the Temple Mount) while crying about “erasure”? Who’s really rewriting history here? You can keep crying. Israel will do whatever and there's nothing you or anyone can do about it!!

Cross river state is now a forgotten case , it is as if it never existed before. Benue is as good as gone, delta and edo are on the chopping block, imo state went with Rochas and after APGA, imo never returned, Ebonyi that was a massive construction site is now like a left over site.
God I beg you on my knees, let Abia, Enugu ,Anambra never APC.
Only the people themselves can fix that. Don't ask me how.
He Cannot Win,He is Nothing,He can't Rule ,He is Insignificant,
He is this , He is that Yet We Can't Just stop Abusing him and Talking About Him. I Think When someone is Irrelevant , He should be Ignored Totally .
Peter Obi ... I'm not a Fan of Any Politician because None of them is Transparent, But This Man Peter Obi Name has become Like a National Anthem which is Compulsory for the Primary & Secondary Schools to recite Every Morning.
Even though a situation has nothing to do with him , It's a Must His Name must be Mentioned
Chai ! This Man Obi..
Simple! APC knows the game. Their e-foot soldiers are deployed to de-market their most feared opponent and make him look bad. That, they have been doing.
ADC? IS that also a party in Nigeria? Did they context the 2023 Presidential election? If ye, how many votes did their candidate get? See any coalition without the likes of PDP and LP is dead on arrival. You know why? We have seen their attempt before and we saw the number of votes they garnered . Also they have structure and the size especially PDP.

Fergie001 you see what I said now?
Inec has unwittingly recognised the convention that returned Abure
What next for Obi and Otti now
Obi is more than LP; Obi is a golden fish Any party he wants, he can be highly welcomed and even given an automatic ticket, including APC. If he enters APC today, the party will give him an automatic ticket, neglecting BAT, my boi. Bc Obi has unquenchable electoral capital, while some people don’t but depend on rigging to be sworn in.

Good evening nairalands, please who can explain this to me, as I am tonally scared and confused. I started charging this phone when I got home from work say around to eight. Because I slept early after taking dinner, only to wake up now and went straight to the parlor to check my phone qhere I was charging it. First I notice this smell when an electronic device is buring or has burned, I quickly checked my PC and unplug it and I went straight to my phone saw it was just 60% and was not charging but I saw that the charger was smelling so I unplug and perceive the phone n the odour was every strong. Only to check the back and I saw this. I quickly check the charger with my wife's phone also A16 Samsung and it was working. I later test it again with my phone n was working pls what would have caused these. Picture of the phone and charger below.
This woman is bold and honest. Well, all she said is true, but where was she when Buhari did his own? The problem in Nigeria is hydra-headed. 2027 election go hot Amala
shoodboi2: Note that Ben Cohen is a Jew. A Jewish American founder and multimillionaire speaking up against the genocide Israel is committing in Gaza. Left to Israel’s ers here, everyone speaking up against Israel’s genocide in Gaza is Hamas.
Are they also going to call the brave Ben Cohen Hamas for speaking up?
Let no one deceive you, lots of people are speaking up against Israel for killing civilians in occupied Palestine. You cannot steal people’s lands and expect them not to fight for it.
As they say, when oppression becomes law, resistance becomes duty.
He is just being emotional about kids, which is understandable, but did he that kids and women were also killed by Hamas terrorists that launched an attack on Israel on Oct. 7th that sparked up this war? He may be influenced by something; we will soon know what it is.
